Opposition to the Use of Violence by BS/Subcontractors

Problem: Problem: On August 12, 2026, a peaceful protest took place against the destruction of the Citadel and the hindrance of daily life for Poznań residents, during which subcontractors dissatisfied with the resistance resorted to “brute force”—that is, they beat up the protest participants.

Position: We strongly oppose the use of violence as a means of resolving problems. Aggression is permitted only in self-defense. The use of force should be proportionate to the threat we face. We have seen with our own eyes the video from this protest (Despite the protesters’ clearly peaceful intentions, BS subcontractors used force. In our view, this shows just how much the festival team truly cares about finding a compromise means - due to ecalation - more peaceful methods are no longer an option

What we intend to do about this: Present the facts briefly and concisely, directly but without resorting to violence. Without any censorship; for us, no topic is too controversial.

Timeline:

• 13 August 2026 Posters#1 put up at the main entrance. There was an interaction with security; after mutually agreeing that our views did not align, we parted ways amicably (according to security, a small piece of tape, which left no trace of damage to property when removed, constituted damage to property. Of course, that’s nonsense.)
• 13 August 2026 [night] – 14 August 2026 Posters#2 put up on the event site and around the citadel. A3, laminated – non-invasive methods were used to attach them, so, once again, there is no question of damage to property.
